New Featurette for Tarsem Singh’s Funky Looking Mirror Mirror

Well, give him this: Tarsem Singh could have gone a dozen different directions with his Snow White movie, many of them obvious, so going the campy, shot-on-a-soundstage route was definitely a novel idea. But when you think about it, I guess it makes perfect sense. Snow White is a fairytale, after all, and while “Snow White and the Huntsman” went for an outdoorsy, epic feel, another version set completely in a warehouse with fake snow, fake trees, and fake everything is exactly the counterpoint the film probably needed. Between the two Snow White movies, I’m still looking more forward to “Huntsman”, but that’s just the action epic lover in me. Here’s a new featurette for “Mirror Mirror”, starring Lily Collins’ impressive eyebrows. And, er, the rest of her, too.

When Snow White’s beauty wins the heart of the prince that she desperately pursues, the Queen banishes her to the forest, where a ravening man-eating beast hungrily awaits. Rescued by a band of diminutive highway robbers, Snow White grows into an indomitable young woman determined to take back her realm from the treacherous Queen. With the support of her subjects, she roars into action in an epic battle that blends spectacle, magic and contemporary humor.

Starring Lily Collins, Julia Roberts, Sean Bean, Armie Hammer, Nathan Lane, Mare Winningham, and Michael Lerner.

Snow White saves the realm March 30, 2012.

HUNTSMAN does look awesomely epic (plus it has Charlize “I-Want-Her-To-Bear-My-Children” Theron as the evil queen); but I….just…..can’t get behind Kristen Stewart as “the fairest of them all”. Definitely not somebody Theron’s queen needs to be jealous over. Also, I just have a thing against all fantasy films lately tryna go all LORD OF THE RINGSy. Dare to be different. I mean, look what happened when Antoine Fuqua tried to do the same thing to Guenivere in KING ARTHUR…..failure.

You’ve gotta admit, Lily Collins is just so damned cute.
