New Green Lantern Trailer Explores the Origins of the Corp.

The latest trailer for Martin Campbell’s “Green Lantern” gives non-comic book reading fans a quick rundown of the origins of the Green Lantern Corp. Basically, willpower + ring = intergalactic beat cop. I think this is also the first time Parallax, the movie’s main alien menace, is mentioned by name, though I could be wrong. Check it out below.

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Temuera Morrison, Jenna Craig, Jon Tenney, Tim Robbins, Angela Bassett, Taika Cohen, Jeff Wolfe, and Michael Clarke Duncan.

Willing into screens everywhere June 17, 2011.

Now that is is a trailer. @Ulik I don’t think they COULD do this as their first trailer, but something along the lines would have worked.
@Lexavi, yeah I think you have yet to be able to put the original trialer and pics out of your head. It’s like you see GL and that stuff pops right up. LOL
@Juggy- The only other time he says it is when the Lantern puts his mind on autopilot to send him to OA when he first gets the ring. But yeah they should use that one.

It’s hard to remove the first images and trailers from your mind. I was only able to do it because of the 4 minutes of footage trailer-thing. I don’t like the look of the mask but im not turned off by it. I want to see it in full swing and it may grow on me. We shall see. I’m ready for this movie to come out already.
