Warner has sent over a spanking new clip and a handful of new images from their upcoming “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1″ original animated movie, which just might very well be the next to last offering from the studio’s original animated movies division. I love the animation here, it looks exactly like the Batman in Frank Miller’s original comics, but I don’t know, I always expected Batman’s voice to be, er, how can I put this … less Peter Weller. Shouldn’t Batman sound more, I don’t know, gruff? Tougher? More “bass”-y? Maybe that’s just me. Please to enjoy.

Batman has not been seen for ten years. A new breed of criminal ravages Gotham City, forcing 55-year-old Bruce Wayne back into the cape and cowl. But, does he still have what it takes to fight crime in a new era?

Also featuring the voices of Ariel Winter, Michael McKean, Wade Williams, and Gary Anthony Williams.

Bats returns on DVD/Blu-ray from Warner Home Video on September 25, 2012.

I like Peter Weller as Batman! Cold,Ironic and Brutal.

Your right, I cringed when I heard Batman’s voice.

    Already watched the movie…

The fear gas hallucination was a great touch! It harkens to “Batman Begins” but is a visual for the exposition of that scene where he just tosses the gas and then states he’s seeing his worst nightmare.

i may in fact spend paper money on this dvd instead of my usual electronic avenues.
I like Weller’s voice as batman, its an interesting choice for sure, and helps to make the movie stand a lil more on its own instead of being like every other batman movie.
