New Images from D.C.’s All-Star Superman

Three new images from D.C.’s original animated direct-to-DVD movie “All-Star Superman”, including one very, er, sorta revealing look at Lois Lane.

In All-Star Superman, the Man of Steel rescues an ill-fated mission to the Sun (sabotaged by Lex Luthor) and, in the process, is oversaturated by radiation – which accelerates his cell degeneration. Sensing even he will be unable to cheat death, Superman ventures into new realms – finally revealing his secret to Lois, confronting Lex Luthor’s perspective of humanity, and attempting to ensure Earth’s safety before his own impending end with one final, selfless act.

Based on the Eisner Award-winning DC Comics series/graphic novel of the same name by Grant Morrison with illustration by Frank Quitely, All-Star Superman is executive produced by animation guru Bruce Timm and directed by Sam Liu (Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths) from a script by acclaimed comics writer Dwayne McDuffie (Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths).

The celebrity-packed voice cast is headed by James Denton (Desperate Housewives) as Superman, Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) as Lois Lane, and Anthony LaPaglia (Without A Trace) as Lex Luthor. The stellar cast includes seven-time Emmy® Award winner Ed Asner (Up) as Perry White, Golden Globe® winner Frances Conroy (Six Feet Under) as Ma Kent, Matthew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds) as Jimmy Olsen and Linda Cardellini (ER) as Nasty.

“All-Star Superman” arrives on DVD and Blu-ray February 22, 2011 from Warner Bros. Animation.

Looks cool. I’m a bit lost though. Dedpool you’re gonna have to clue me in. Who is the chick in the shots? Also, who is Nasty?

That’s Lois Lane. In the comics storyline, Superman gives her a birthday gift that grants her superpowers for a day.

Lmao. That’s what I’m here for. Nix got the first right, that’s Lois, and Nasty is short for Nasthalia, Nasthalia Luthor. The whole story is a throwback to Silver-age Superman with the crazy powers and somewhat silly stories. Hence the kinda corny name Nasthalia. LOL. I’m really hoping too much doesn’t get cut cause it was a great story and had some crazy things going on. I’m hoping they didnt drop the Bizarro stuff or the Jimmy Olsen stuff. I know Atlas and Samson, as well as the multiple Superman angle. Man it was a fun read.

I love all things comics but I’m more of a marvel man. Specifically X-Men, Avengers and Spider-Man. The only D.C. character that I read a lot of was Batman. I know enough about the D.C.U. to carry on a conversation but there is a lot that I don’t know, obviously. Lol. Especially in the last few years. I haven’t been reading many comics as I used to. I’ll get a graphic novel or a one off every now and then but serial reading is really hard for me. There is so much going on that I’m not in the loop.

Tradepaperbacks man. It’s the way to go. I don’t have money or time to go looking for indivdual issues. So I get trades. I get whole sotrylines and extra stuff too. Thats how I got GL:Rebirth (signed by Geoff Johns at comiccon =-D) Sinestro corps war, and Blackest Night. Not to mention Marvel’s Annihilation, Annhilation Conquest.

I just watched this movie last night and MY GOD its good. Every time i see one of these animations that they really put hard work into, I gotta hope that Snyder, who has the ability to, pays it forward. I was completely blown away by the story. I didn’t read the original material but now i’ll probably go back and buy it. Hell im definitely picking this up on blu ray day 1.

Good to hear. Read a review and a lot got cut (understandablevas it was a 12 issue maxi-series) but still got great reviews. I can’t wait. I own all of these DC animated flicks.
