“The Next Three Days” looks like the kind of film that will help get me through the end of the year Oscar bait that clogs the theaters around the holidays. The tense, prison break film about a normal guy driven to extraordinary measures by desperation, features a cast that includes Russell Crowe, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Neeson, Brian Dennehey, and Olivia Wilde, and is helmed by “Crash” director Paul Haggis.
Based on French film “Pour Elle”, “The Next Three Days” tells the story of everyman John Brennan (Crowe), who is compelled to break his wife (Banks) out of prison after she is arrested for a murder she didn’t commit. MTV has a pair of new behind-the-scenes photos, one of Crowe and Banks running away from something, and one of Haggis doing his director thing.
