Vanity Fair has seven new artsy fartsy pictures from Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming WWII movie “Inglourious Basterds”, which is making its premiere at Cannes later this month. The film is being described as “‘Pulp Fiction’ meets ‘The Dirty Dozen’ meets ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'”. Or in other words, a lot of other movies Tarantino has seen and liked, except it’s really talky.
In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as “The Basterds” are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers.
Starring Brad Pitt, Samuel L. Jackson, Diane Kruger, Cloris Leachman, Mike Myers, Samm Levine, Eli Roth, B.J. Novak, Til Schweiger, and Julie Dreyfus. Quentin Tarantino writes and directs.
The basterds attack August 21.
