New Joker Image from The Dark Knight

I don’t know who is running the marketing campaign for the latest “Batman Begins” sequel, aka “The Dark Knight”, but man, they’re really screwing it up something big time. First, there was that missed opportunity to do something big at the recent Comic Con, and now, with the film scheduled for Summer 2008, there are still no real major push for the film. Of course, it is still months away, so maybe I’m expecting more than I should. In any case, the latest picture from “The Dark Knight” is another one of Heath Ledger as the Joker that’s part of the bad attempt at viral marketing going on via the whysoserious.com website. But you know what? I have to tell you, Ledger is REALLY looking good as the joker. This guy doesn’t look funny at all; he looks friggin’ scary.

Batman (Christian Bale) raises the stakes in his war on crime in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight.” With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker (Heath Ledger).

Egad, this thing is going to rock.
