Apparently director Phil Claydon is trying to make up for the incredibly awful “Alone”, his serial killer movie from 2002. Really, that movie was so horrid, I still have nightmares about having to watch it. Phil Claydon’s latest is “Lesbian Vampire Killers”, a horror-comedy in the vein of movies about lesbians, vampires, and the people who kills them. Or loves them. Maybe even both! After this one hits theaters, Claydon’s got a zombie opus called “Joshua Breed” on deck, and that sounds like a winner, too. Or at least, if you enjoy mindlessly entertaining genre stuff. Guilty! But back to those lesbians and their vampire killers. New images from the flick have shown up online.
Their women having been enslaved by the local pack of lesbian vampires thanks to an ancient curse, the remaining menfolk of a rural Welsh town send two hapless young lads out onto the moors as a sacrifice.
The movie is scheduled for a March 20 2009 release in its native UK. Possible U.S. dates will probably depend on how much business the movie does overseas, i.e. will it be worth the bucks to bring it over? One hopes. And if not, eh, there’s always DVD.
