New Pics: The Finder, Wonder Woman, Locke and Key, Alcatraz

USAToday has a look at the upcoming pilot season, and have included official pictures from most of them, including a couple that interests us. (And no, the new show about Don Johnson as a hairdresser does NOT interest us.)

Up first is another official pick from David E. Kelley’s “Wonder Woman”, with Adrianne Palicki in businesswoman garb holding a doll of a curiously “classic” looking Wonder Woman. Too bad it’s a teeny tiny pic. Couldn’t spare a bigger one, USAToday?

“Alcatraz”, from producer J.J. Abrams, and starring Sam Neill and Sarah Jones. The mystery/drama concerns “the country’s most infamous prison, Alcatraz, and the team investigating the mysterious re-appearance of its 1960s inhabitants in the present.” It better be real clever or it’s a goner. The premise sounds like a snoozefest.

“The Finder”, the “Bones” spin-off show about an ex-military guy who can find anything, hence the title. Starring Geoff Stults, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Saffron Burrows. The character will be officially introduced in the April 21 episode of “Bones”.

“Locke and Key”, based on the comic book by Joe Hill, son of Stephen King, who has become quite the success in his own right. The show “follows a family in crisis as they move into a haunted house full of secrets, dangers and wondrous opportunities.” Starring Sarah Bolger, Miranda Otto, Jesse McCartney, Skylar Gaertner, Nick Stahl, and Mark Pellegrino.

I remember them mentioning the scene from WW above. Apparently she mentions how the costume wasn’t fucntional. LOL. Also kinda excited about Lock and Key.

I think WW will tank as I have stated before. Lock & Key sounds like it could be really cool. My problem is episodical television is extremely hard for me to keep up with. I’m so behind on movies and other series’ that adding another will be tough. DVR helps a lot! Lol. Usually I wait until they’re all available on my DVR or I get the entire season on DVD and run through them in one day.

Same here. I do the same with comics. LoL. And yeah WW will probably do worse than “Birds of Prey”

        Sent on the go.

I don’t know man, I liked the Birds Of Prey show. However, it was based on a book with characters that I had no stock in. Besides Oracle who I wasn’t following since the Batgirl stuff I didn’t follow or know much about the main characters. I knew of Huntress but didn’t know her backstory or ties to Batman and Catwoman or any of that. The cameos by Black Canary, Clayface, Harley Quinn and Lady Shiva as well as allusions to other characters from the DC/Bat universe were really cool! I enjoyed it though. The Wonder Woman series will fail because she is too big a character to just have a hokey tv series. She needs a big budget movie adaptation. Make a tv show for another female character leave the big three to the films. Then make one offs with the b-list or TV shows or mini-series’ for the c-list guys and gals.

I didn’t say it was bad, just that it didn’t last. Trust me for what it was, it was decent. But didn’t get the press, and following of Smallville. It’s funny you say she is too big a character and there are many that feel the opposite. I’m not one of them. I think they should’ve taken the animated movie as a basic tmeplate for a live action film but oh well.

I really thought that the idea that you had for it to be similar to Percy Jackson and have all of the Gods and Athenian conections relate in the real world would have bee very cool. Having it look almost like the Clash Of The Titans when the Amazonian stuff is going on and a story arc where she’d have to cross over to our world would have been good. I mean she is basically a female Thor and that seems like it is going to work.
