New Poster and Image from The Last Airbender

Paramount has released a new pic and poster from M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Last Airbender”. The pic is above, and features Dev Patel as the bad guy, and the poster, which is a variation of an earlier one we published, is below (via Slashfilm).

Based on the hugely successful Nickelodeon animated TV series, the live-action feature film is set in a world where human civilization is divided into four nations: Water, Earth, Air and Fire. The Fire Nation is waging a ruthless, oppressive war against the other three nations. The film’s hero, the reluctant young Aang (Noah Ringer), is the “Last Airbender” — the Avatar who, according to prophecy, has the ability to manipulate all of the elements and bring all the nations together. Aided by a protective teenage Waterbender named Katara (Nicola Peltz) and her bull-headed brother Sokka, Aang proceeds on a perilous journey to restore balance to their war-torn world. Dev Patel plays the Fire Nation’s evil prince Zuko. Exiled from the Fire Nation by his father, Zuko is sent to capture the Avatar in order to restore his honor and right to the throne.

Starring Jackson Rathbone, Dev Patel, Cliff Curtis, Seychelle Gabriel, Noah Ringer, Nicola Peltz, Shaun Toub, Jessica Andres, Aasif Mandvi, Katharine Houghton, Keong Sim, and directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

Save the world July 2, 2010.

Nice. Was wondering when they'd get to a character composite poster. I like the detail on Zuko's (Dev Patel) scar.

I hate what they have done to it. I feel that the anime was much better and a lot of crucial details fans love are missing. Paramount should pair up with designers for the original Avatar and finish the story line (where is zukos mother) … also the actors really don't fit the original characters.
