New Poster For Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark

After what seems like a long gestation period, the remake of “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark”, the new horror joint from director Troy Nixey and producer Guillermo Del Toro, finally has a release date, August 26. It also has a ghostly new poster. The image fits in with what we’ve already seen in the way of promotional material. You can almost imagine some creepy little ghost-child whispering, “come play with us” as a shiver runs up your spine. It manages to be both subtle and spooky.

“Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” is

about a young girl (Bailee Madison) sent to live with her father (Guy Pearce) and his new girlfriend (Katie Holmes) in their new home, where she encounters an assortment of terrifying creatures who want to turn her into one of their own.

I’m on board for pretty much anything Del Toro does, especially his ghost stories, and “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” is no exception. Check out the poster below via the MTV Movies Blog.
