From low-budget (or moderately budget, I guess would be the better, more appropriate term) to big-budget movies about cars “fighting” on the streets? That’s apparently what “The Conjuring” director James Wan is going for when he buckles up for the latest “Fast and Furious” movie. It’s a pretty strange jump for the guy who directed not just this upcoming “The Conjuring”, but also “Insidious” and the “Saw” films. Then again, I guess when the studio comes to you and asks you to helm a sure-fire blockbuster hit, you don’t say No unless you’re kinda a numbskull. James Wan, it turns out, is not a numbskull.
