New Poster For The Amazing Spider-Man

Today brings a look at the newest poster for Columbia’s “The Amazing Spider-Man”. It doesn’t give away much, but it is a pretty cool design. Star Andrew Garfield (you’re supposed to assume anyway), as Peter Parker, clings to a corner of what looks like a seedy alley. Maybe he’s running from something or someone, maybe he’s about to pounce and do something badass. You’ll have to wait until next summer to find out. Either way, he casts a big spooky shadow. The poster also comes with a vague, but intriguing new tagline that promises to tell “The Untold Story”. I can see all of you fanboys tenting your fingers and furrowing your brows as we speak.

Directed by Marc Webb (“500 Days of Summer”), “The Amazing Spider-Man” stars Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and Dennis Leary.

“The Amazing Spider-Man” swings into theaters July 3, 2012, and, I imagine, will bruise and batter most of its competition. And in 3D no less.
