New Poster for The Dark Knight Rises, Well, Rises

Warner Bros. has released a new poster for Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises”. Um, Bats? You might want to step out of the way there, buddy. Looks like all of Gotham city is falling down on you — while engulfed in flames, natch. It’s basically the same teaser poster that was released almost a year ago, only with a different color and Bats slapped in front of it looking all brooding and such, as he is wont to do.

Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, the terrorist leader Bane arrives in Gotham City, pushing it and its police force to their limits, forcing its former hero Batman to resurface after taking the fall for Harvey Dent’s crimes.

Starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Nestor Carbonell, and rising July 20, 2012.

    Pretty uninspired.

      I second that emotion

  • Wolfdaddy21

It does seem lackluster, like Nolan somehow tried too hard and not hard enough. He didn’t even want to do a third so I fear it may fall short.

    • Juggernaut

Exactly! This is supposed to be “The Epic Onclusion”!!! what is “Epic” about this poster?!?!?! Nothing!
It is the same pose that Batman has been in throughout all three films. It is the same crumbling skline with the bat-symbol in the negative space as the very first teaser images and trailer from months ago. With a film of this magnitude there should be something new and exiting being released at this point. Bring on some character posters for Batman, Jim Gordon, Lucious Fox, John Blake, Bane, Selina Kyle, Ra’s Al Ghul and Miranda Tate! I need something to pump me up!

Chris Nolan is not in charge of the poster making.

        He has some say

Is a combination of the first poster with TDK poster. When I saw this yesterday I honestly thought it was a fan made poster.

These people have to wake up! Avengers is kicking ass, and the only DC property left is TDKR. If they market it the wrong way, even when I know it’ll be awesome, it might hurt the production.

I agree. Marvel’s Avengers was a marketing machine. It bordered on ludacris before it finally hit theaters with four clips, three pics and two potsers a day but at least it kept the fanboys and gals clamoring. TDKR may suffer from too little too late.

We need quality. Doesn’t matter if is too little. I mean, Chris Nolan is secretive about his projects, so is understandable not having plethora of clips, trailers or posters every day, but man, at least make sure the little you put on the street is good.
