New Poster for Tiger Chen’s Action Flick Kung Fu Man

Tiger Chen in Kung Fu Man (2013) Movie Image

If watching Tiger Chen punch and kick his way through Keanu Reeves’ directorial debut “Man of Tai Chi” isn’t your cup of tea, then perhaps you’d like to watch the guy save a little boy from a gang of ruthless kidnappers. That’s essentially the plot for Chen’s upcoming action flick “Kung Fu Man.”

Were I judging this movie based on title alone, then “Kung Fu Man” would already lose. It’s definitely not an inspired choice, though this doesn’t seem to get in the way of the film’s penchant for martial arts madness. I suppose I shouldn’t judge a movie on its title alone, but “Kung Fu Man” is pretty generic. Sheesh.

Anyway, the movie is set to open in China in just a few days. In order to spread the good word about Tiger Chen’s latest effort, a brand new poster has started making the rounds online. The image of the screaming white kid is a nice touch, though it doesn’t do a particularly splendid job of selling the flick’s numerous set pieces.

Should the new poster leave you feeling a little underwhelmed, be sure to check out the trailer embedded below. The fights look decent even though that boy grates my last nerve. And this is just the trailer! Will I be able to survive the entire movie without wanting someone to cave his face in? I can’t wait to find out.

Tiger Chen’s “Kung Fu Man” opens in China on July 19, 2013.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.
