I just watched the original, which, although isn't stellar, hinges on the fact that the main character Joe/Kong is deaf and mute. He isn't a globe-trotting, wisecracking, slick assassin. He lives in a gritty world populated with thugs, boxers and exotic dancers. I'm disappointed. What a sell out.
