A collection of groovy posters for three movies for ya this Monday.
The first is a very nice, battle-hardened look at Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man”, which is definitely going for that whole gritty approach. Of course, I’m not sure how gritty you can possibly get about a teenager who dresses up as a spider and fights crime while cracking jokes. Still, if Webb’s intention was to separate himself from the Raimi trilogy, I think he might have succeeded — visually speaking, anyway.
The second poster is a new look at Will Smith goofingly riding some goofy looking bike (thingie) in Barry Sonnenfeld’s “Men in Black 3″. I haven’t a clue if this movie will be any good, but I’ll give Sonnenfeld and company this — it looks exactly like the first two movies. Which is to say, it’s got a neat hook, same Will Smith, and the CG still looks highly shoddy for such a big-budget movie.
The third movie to get new posters is the Chinese dramedy “Inseparable” from writer/director Dayyan Eng. The film has the distinction of starring a major Hollywood actor in Kevin Spacey. It looks wonky as hell, but I guess that’s the point. You can check out James Mudge’s review of the film here.
