Apparently one of the newer trends in movie poster marketing is artificially inserting crease marks on the poster to give it the impression that the poster was recently folded and unfolded. I don’t know what genius came up with this idea, since it’s pretty asinine and doesn’t improve the poster even remotely. If anything, it just detracts. Really, people get paid to come up with these ideas. Go figure.
Anyways, two new posters this morning…
The first is for Jonathan Levine’s zombie romance flick “Warm Bodies”. Yes, that description is very appropriate. It does indeed have zombies (hell, the leading man played by Nicholas Hoult is a zombie), and it does indeed have romance (who knew hot blonde girls like Teresa Palmer could fall for rotting man meat?). Ogle the trailer here if you missed it the first time ’round. Good to know that romance lives in the zombie apocalypse.
And here’s a new scandalous poster for the the ensemble comedy “Movie 43”, which, like the recently released trailer, tries very hard to be provocative, leading me to one conclusion: if this movie doesn’t end up being as provocative and scandalous as it’s being sold, I’m going to be mighty pissed off. The film is apparently strung together with a series of gross-out stories from a bunch of Hollywood A-listers like Emma Stone, Halle Berry, Kate Winslet, Hugh Jackman, and seemingly every one in Hollywood. This is potentially either the greatest comedy of all time, or the biggest vanity project of all time. Maybe both?
