If this new trailer for Dean Parisot’s “Red 2” is to be believed, old people can totally kick ass. And not just kick ass, but kick ass in brutally awesome and cool ways, too. I can dig that, though I’m still not comfortable with calling Bruce Willis “old” yet. He still looks way too young to be to be lumped in with John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, and what is apparently a loony tunes Anthony Hopkins.
Anyhoo. Check out the latest trailer for “Red 2”, the sequel to 2011’s “Red”. I still can’t get over how different the movies are to the original Warren Ellis comics, which was this uber dark, totally nihilistic story. Go figure.
In RED 2, the high-octane action-comedy sequel to the worldwide sleeper hit, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they’ll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world—and stay alive in the process.
“Red 2” also stars Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung Hun Lee, Brian Cox, and Neal McDonough.
Blastin’ fools this August 2, 2013.
