New SFW Evil Dead Trailer is Short on Gore but Still Pretty Bloody Good

Let’s face it, the chances of a whole lotta people eating crow when Fede Alvarez’s “Evil Dead” remake opens in a few months from now are pretty high. I might even be one of them. But then again, I’ve seen really great movie trailers that wasn’t backed up by the movie itself before, so who knows. I’ll give the folks behind the remake a lot of credit, though — this thing looks pretty damn good.

Here’s a new SFW trailer that opens much like the recent Red Band trailer, but then it serves up some new footage toward the end. Not a whole lot of the red stuff here, but the freak-out factor is still pretty high.

Mia, a young woman struggling with sobriety, heads to a remote cabin with her brother and three friends, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads them to unwittingly summon up demons living in the nearby woods.

Starring Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas, and Elizabeth Blackmore.

The evil gets dead April 12, 2013.

The original was original. Now it is a remake using shots from the Ring and the Grodge. The light is to perfect, especially in the little cabin, should have some more shadow. The actress’s really bad. When you don’t know what to do or you cannot do nothing, just don’t do nothing.

I’m trying pretty hard to decipher this. “When you don’t know what to do or you cannot do nothing, just don’t do nothing?” So you’re agreeing with the remake? I’m guessing you’re not, but I’d spend a few days digging into a Dictionary if I were you. I disagree with you 100%. The original was the original, yes, but THIS is not supposed to be the original. If it were, we’d have Ash. No, this is a new version, which is something what I would want to see, being a fanboy of the classic. Not just a copy of the original. I’m glad it’s getting mixed up a bit.
