Okay, so it’s maybe one second or two of Monica Bellucci, but that’s one or more seconds than what we’ve had in previous trailers. Check out the latest new trailer for Jon Turteltaub’s “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” via the official site. This thing looks very innocuous, so feel free to take the kids, moms and dads. By the way, what is the deal with Jay Baruchel’s voiceover voice? I keep imagining a midget with a Tommy gun, fedora, and cigar in his mouth.
Balthazar Blake is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath. Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler, a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protege. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It’ll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
Starring Jay Baruchel, Nicolas Cage, Monica Bellucci, Alfred Molina, Robert Capron, Teresa Palmer, Ethan Peck, Toby Kebbell, Alice Krige, and directed by Jon Turteltaub.
It’s magical July 16, 2010.
