New Super 8 TV Spot Pours on the Mystery

A new, minute-long TV spot for J.J. Abrams’ “Super 8″, which adds to the mystery while offering few explanations as to what the heck is going on. That’s part of the film’s draw, of course, but here’s hoping the Big Reveal will be worth the wait. Via TheMovieBox.

Set in Ohio in 1979, a troupe of six youngsters are using a Super 8 camera to make their own zombie movie. One fateful night, their project takes them to a lonely stretch of rural railroad tracks and, as the camera rolls, calamity strikes – a truck collides with an oncoming locomotive and a hellacious derailment fills the night with screaming metal and raining fire. Then something emerges from the wreckage, something decidedly inhuman.

Starring Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Gabriel Basso, Joel Courtney, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee, Zach Mills, AJ Michalka and directed by JJ Abrams.

Revealing all June 10, 2011.

More mystery. More hype. Love it. Can’t wait to see this. I love “The Host”, “Cloverfield”, “Monsters”, “The Troll Hunter”, “The Mist”, “Chaw”, “War Of The Worlds” (2005), “Skyline”, “Battle: Los Angeles”, “Negadon: Monster From Mars”, “Gamera: The Brave”, “Long And Dark-Haired Monster Geharha” and even Emmerich’s “Godzilla”. Nothing like monster and alien mayhem. Though “Death Kappa” and “Demeking” were duds. Can’t wait until “Super 8″, “Gomera”, “The Host 2″, South Korea’s “Sector 7″, Legendary Pictures’ and Toho’s new “Godzilla” film in 3-D and the new “Gamera” 3-D come out.
