There are a couple of laughs to be had with the other characters, but they’re few and in short supply, and Sandler is pretty much a black hole of unfunniness. And I like the guy. I generally prefer the movies where he’s not doing some ridiculous, high-pitched “voices”, but for the most part, I think he turns out some okay movies. But this? Dear God, it’s like Sandler is trying to torpedo the film by being absolutely as unfunny as possible. Poor Andy Samberg…
While still in his teens, Donny (Adam Sandler) fathered a son, Todd (Andy Samberg), and raised him as a single parent up until Todd’s 18th birthday. Now, after not seeing each other for years, Todd’s world comes crashing down.
Starring Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Leighton Meester, Vanilla Ice, James Caan, Milo Ventimiglia, and directed by Sean Anders.
Dad comes home June 15, 2012.
