In case you’ve been living under a rock, Christopher Nolan and the bean counters at Warner Bros. have been showing off glorious chunks of “The Dark Knight Rises” to media types this week, not only as a 7-minute prologue in front of “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” somewhere in the Middle East or thereaways, but also to a selected group of Internet types here Stateside. Bootlegs of said prologue, along with this trailer, have been leaking all over the net all week, though the qualities have been nothing short of Godawful and Warner has been quick to pull them. Which begged the question: when the hell is Warner Bros. gonna release the trailer already?

Today, as it turns out. With Christmas vacation on the horizon, Nolan and company have decided to have mercy on us and finally release the official full theatrical trailer for “The Dark Knight Rises”. Please to nerdgasm.

The plot finds Batman (Christian Bale), now a hunted man, contending with new villains Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) and Bane (Tom Hardy) in what is expected to be Christopher Nolan’s final film in the “Batman Begins” trilogy. Also starring Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, and Nestor Carbonell.

The bat rises to kick your ass July 20, 2012.

Honestly it looks a bit cheesy. Am I the only one?

I remember continually getting chills down my spine everytime I watching TDK trailer. This trailer doesn’t. Good thing I must say because I know this film will be phenomenal and it’ll help bring the hype down.

How did you not get chills while watching the football field explode?? I swear my heart stopped at that scene.

I feel it was a little underwhelming… maybe because of the sequence of things/scenes in the trailer.. and to me the bat-plane looked like a toy..maybe they should have given it a little more footage…also the pace of the fights seem more on the slower side… the explosions on the football field look awesome..but the scene does not..i mean..the guy keeps running for goal when the field is exploding behind him and he does not feel, hear or sense it till he looks back..c’mon

Stop complaining people, it’s a trailer not the movie. And the football player does realize something is wrong, he just doesn’t look around until he gets to the end zone. I thought it was a good trailer. It gave glimpses into what would happen in the movie, without giving anything away. The stuff will make more sense once we see the other trailers, and obviously once we see the movie.

I’m sold! Looked like a fittin climax to the trilogy to me. And Am I the only one that saw one of the Camo-tumblers with a canon on it? I have no clue what’s going on but I can’t wait!!

I’ll admit the first time I watched it I thought it should have had more “pop!” The first time you see anything you’re drawn to the visuals because you can process that faster than plot hints and clues – but with each additional viewing I’m getting more and more excite!

Thank you Chris Nolan for how you give us films that are awesome and make us think!

    P.S. Is Catwoman a commie?!

You know what I love the most about Christopher Nolan movies? is the fact that, even after a theatrical trailer I still don’t know NOTHING about this film.

    Just think about it:

    * How is Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character involved?
    * Is Catwoman an ally or a foe? I mean, really, you don’t really expect she’s part of The League of Shadows just because she tells Bruce Wayne that a war is comming and he should be ashamed he haven’t really lived. For all I know she was just trashing the rich playboy for not knowing shait.
    * We haven’t seen much of Alfred. Will he die? Is that how Bane brakes the Bat? He broke his spirit?
    * How is Marion Cottilard’s character involved?
    * A guy was cast as Ras Al Ghul but we haven’t seen him. What’s his part on this? Ally or foe?

I can go on and on. I love not to know what the hell is going on. That’ll make the experience even sweeter.

Also… You can see almost at the end 2 or 3 thumblers.

Are those remote control Batmobiles or is the bat getting help?

i know i put this on another post but i am curious and this seems to be where the majority of the comments are. does anyone know if bane is going to be big? if this has been asked and anwserd i am sorry i looked but could not find it.

That is as big as Bane is going to be, and if you’ve seen Hardy in Warrior or Bronson, he’s a big dude. That said they’re going a slightly different route with Bane. He doesn’t use Venom for strength enhancement. I think they’re basically trying to make him an anti-Batman. What Bruce could’ve been had he actually followed Ra’s teachings. He’s as smart as Batman, and actually physcially stronger but through natural means. The mask supposedly has a chemical that reduces the pain he constantly feels due to something in his past.

Oh thank you, that’s a cool more realistic way of looking at it. I’m excited

          My thoughts exactly.

          Sent on the go!
