“Crank” boys Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor have unleashed a second (new, theatrical) trailer for their upcoming “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” upon the world. It looks like this is going to be a swell week for fanboys, with trailers for “The Dark Knight Rises” and “Prometheus” also expected later this week — unless, of course, they decide to hold it off until next week. But whatever, that’s for later. For now, it’s all about the burning skull. And Nicholas Cage’s droning voiceover narration. I swear, Nicolas Cage might be the only person whose voice I can hear and instantly think, “That’s Nicolas Cage”.

It has been several years since making a deal with the Devil and Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage), living in self-imposed isolation, finds himself as the only person who can help save 10-year-old Danny – and ultimately the world – thanks to his unwanted and uncontrollable power – his ability to transform into the hell-on-wheels monster known as The Ghost Rider.

Starring Nicolas Cage, Idris Elba, Violante Placido, Ciarán Hinds, Christopher Lambert, Fergus Riordan, and Johnny Whitworth.

Applying vengeance on fools February 17, 2012.

    Can I just say……I LOVE Neveldine/Taylor

  • wingcm

Definitely looks more promising than the last one.

I’ll say! That was my biggest issue with the first one. There wasn’t enough action, the villains were no challenge!!

      • wingcm

I agree with you there. The villains were incredibly lame and really added nothing to the movie.

  • Juggernaut

This looks really good! I’m looking forward this.

  • justjoe

Hell yeah. Gone´s are those lame villains and stupid romantic subplot. Now we get badass villain Blackout from the comics, Christopher “Highlander” Lambert and some crazy action!

  • Danmillion99

He should have said “Road House”, not “Road Kill” :P heeeee!

  • Danmillion99

    ….Road House…

    Fuuuuuck yeah…

    This is Ghost Rider!!!

The fact this sequel has Idris Elba means this film will be way better anyway. The trailer does seem to show more action too. Ghost Rider has always been one of my favourite Marvel characters, I really hope they get it right this time. The first film had some great moments but just didn’t deliver any satisfaction and I found myself going back to read the old comics with Dan Ketch as Ghost Rider; some of those fight scenes are iconic and easily transferable to a movie.
