Stash House (2012) Movie Poster

The folks behind the After Dark Horrorfest are dipping their toes into the action genre with the After Dark Action series of films. True to their formula, the films will receive a simultaneous release on video-on-demand and in a limited theatrical run. The line-up features a who’s who of badasses that spend most of their time in the direct-to-video realm, guys like Jean-Claude Van Damme, Cung Le, and Scott Adkins. Ivan Drago himself, Dolph Lundgren, also makes an appearance in “Stash House”, which now has a kickass trailer and one-sheet poster.

“Stash House” is about a young couple, very much in love, who buy what they think is their dream house. And it’s so much more affordable than they ever imagined. Like most things that seem too good to be true, this is very much the case. What’s the problem, you might ask? Good question. There is what appears to be millions of dollars worth of heroin hidden in the walls. You’re correct to assume that the owner of said illicit narcotics (Lundgren) would very much like them back. What follows is sure to be a slam-bang action romp while the embattled couple finds themselves in the middle of a grim fight for survival.

I’m pumped about this series, which includes “Dragon Eyes”, “El Gringo”, “Transit”, and “The Philly Kid”. These are my favorite style of action films, the kind that rely more on guns, tough guys being tough, and fist fights than computer effects and gimmicks.

“Stash House” stars Lundgren, Sean Farris, and Briana Evigan, and hits theaters and VOD on May 11.

Definitely looking forward to this and DRAGON EYES. I’ve never understood why Seagal is still scraping by in the bowels of DTV hell while the quality of Lundgren and JCVD’s work has actually been improving over the years……
