Here’s the best trailer for Bryan Singer’s “Jack The Giant Slayer” yet. I think it looks pretty good, but then again I’m a sucker for these fantasy action-adventures with pretty princesses, spunky country boys with more guts than brains, and what not. (I basically watch “The Princess Bride” from beginning to end every time I stumble across it on TV.) The problem is, I might be one of the few who wouldn’t mind paying good money to see this when it opens next month. “Jack” will be opening against an indie horror title with mature audiences appeal (“Stoker”), a teenage sex comedy romp with teenage appeal (“21 and Over”), and a branded horror sequel with, well, horror fans appeal (“The Last Exorcism 2”). That’s some pretty eclectic competition there that might end up pulling “Jack’s” audiences every which directiong.
But what do you think? Are you buying “Jack The Giant Slayer” yet after watching this latest trailer?
“Jack the Giant Slayer” tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack (Nicholas Hoult) into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend–and gets the chance to become a legend himself.
Starring Nicholas Hoult, Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane, Bill Nighy, Eleanor Tomlinson, and Ewan McGregor.
