New Trailer For Gela Babluani’s Remake of 13

Jason Statham in 13 (2010) Movie Image

If the name of the movie sounds familiar, that’s because “13” is a remake of 2005’s “13 Tzameti” by Georgian director Gela Babluani. The film was completed in 2010, but is just now getting a release date in the States. As a result, a previous trailer was released almost a year ago, but this is the first official Stateside trailer for the movie. The remake, which gets a major upgrade in International stars, is directed by Gela Babluani. Yup, that’s correct. Babluani has remade his own movie in English, with an entirely new cast that includes Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, rapper .50 Cent, and “True Blood’s” Alexander Skarsgard, who seems to be in every single friggin movie nowadays. I’ve included both trailers below. I think the International one works a lot better, to be perfectly honest. It at least doesn’t hide the fact that Sam Riley is the main character, and not Statham, Rourke, or .50 Cent.

A desperate young man assumes a false identity in order to enter a high-stakes underworld game of Russian Roulette in order to pay off his debts. In this game of power, violence, and chance wealthy men gamble behind closed doors on the lives of shooters who take aim at each other, armed with nothing more than a bullet in the chamber.

Also starring Sam Riley, Ray Liotta, Ray Winstone, Michael Shannon, Ben Gazzara, David Zayas, and Emmanuelle Chriqui.

Pull the trigger in limited release October 28th, 2011.
