It doesn’t have the words “Fast” or “Furious” in the title, which probably explains why Paul Walker’s latest vehicular actioner, “Vehicle 19” is getting a June 14th release date before it hits VOD and DVD on July 23rd the following month. And oh, by the way, the film is also getting a Premium VOD release on May 16th, a month before the film’s theatrical release. From what I understand, Premium VODs usually cost way more than your standard VOD rental. Universal, for instance, last year offered “Tower Heist” via Premium VOD at $60 a pop. I’m guessing “Vehicle 19” won’t cost nearly that much. Probably.
In any case, check out a second trailer for Paul Walker’s “Vehicle 19”. The gimmick here seems to be that after the initial first few minutes when Walker’s character goes in search of his rental car, the rest of the movie is shot from the perspective of inside the car with Walker. Or something like that.
A recently paroled man unwittingly picks up the wrong rental vehicle after a long flight. He soon realizes that he is the target of an entire police force that will use any means necessary to stop him and the tied-up female “passenger” he discovers in the trunk from getting to the courthouse to testify against their city’s top-to-bottom corruption.
Starring Paul Walker, Naima McLean, Gys de Villiers, Leyla Haidarian, and Tshepo Maseko.
Written and directed by Mukunda Michael Dewil.
