Summit Entertainment tried to cash in on the popularity of “Twilight” last week by putting the latest trailer for “New Moon” in front of their teen-friendly “Bandslam”, but few kids bit, despite a starring turn by Vanessa Hudgens sans “High School Musical”. I guess as it turns out, while the kids may love “HSM”, they’re not all that wild about Vanessa. Go figure. But if you were one of those who caught the new “New Moon” trailer in its bootleg form, here’s the actual trailer that Summit just released, which re-introduces the audience to a new, buffer version of Jacob Black, played by Taylor Lautner. The trailer is, as the kids would say, pro-Team Jacob. And oh yeah, there are also a couple of looks at Dakota Fanning as a vampire towards the end.
After Bella recovers from the vampire attack that almost claimed her life, she looks to celebrate her birthday with Edward and his family. However, a minor accident during the festivities results in Bella’s blood being shed, a sight that proves too intense for the Cullens, who decide to leave the town of Forks, Washington for Bella and Edward’s sake. Initially heartbroken, Bella finds a form of comfort in reckless living, as well as an even-closer friendship with Jacob Black. Danger in different forms awaits.
