China’s Tiger Chen unleashes his inner (and outer) tiger in a new U.S. trailer for director Keanu Reeves’ kung fu pic “Man of Tai Chi”. The film is finally making its U.S. debut later this month on VOD and in limited release sometime around November, so yes, kids, you’ll finally be able to see what Keanu Reeves has been doing with his time while overseas in Asia or thereabouts.
For the record, he was starring and directing “Man of Tai Chi” in China and starring in “47 Ronin” in Japan. The man loves him some Asian cinema.
Set in modern Beijing, MAN OF TAI CHI marks Keanu Reeves’ directorial debut. The film, also starring Reeves, follows the spiritual journey of a young martial artist (played by Tiger Chen) whose unparalleled Tai Chi skills land him in a highly lucrative underworld fight club. As the fights intensify, so does his will to survive.
The film stars Tiger Chen as the good guy, Keanu Reeves as the bad guy, and Karen Mok as the gal.
The film opens Stateside on VOD this September 27th and in theaters this November 1st.
