Via Joblo, who points to the site Filmflash as having put online images from the upcoming Nicolas Cage remake of “Bangkok Dangerous”. Now before you Asian movie purists start getting all a’fluttered over this, keep in mind that the original directors of the original movie is ALSO directing this remake. Basically, if the guys who made the original doesn’t care about Hollywood remaking their movie, what’s YOUR beef? That having been said, Cage looks decent in these first images from the movie. The Pang Brothers also seem to be sticking to the original storyline about a deaf hitman who falls in love with a local girl, but with minor deviations that seem necessary given Cage isn’t, well, a deaf Thai guy.

A hitman (Cage) in Bangkok to pull off a series of jobs falls for a local woman and bonds with his errand boy.

Nicolas Cage, Charlie Yeung, and Shahkrit Yamnarm stars. The Pang Brothers direct. There isn’t a release date for the film as yet, but you can read our review of the 1999 original here.

This remake of “Bangkok Dangerous” will be the Pang Brothers’ second Hollywood film, following their debut in “The Messengers”.
