Nicolas Cage in Bangkok Dangerous Remake Images

Via Joblo, who points to the site Filmflash as having put online images from the upcoming Nicolas Cage remake of “Bangkok Dangerous”. Now before you Asian movie purists start getting all a’fluttered over this, keep in mind that the original directors of the original movie is ALSO directing this remake. Basically, if the guys who made the original doesn’t care about Hollywood remaking their movie, what’s YOUR beef? That having been said, Cage looks decent in these first images from the movie. The Pang Brothers also seem to be sticking to the original storyline about a deaf hitman who falls in love with a local girl, but with minor deviations that seem necessary given Cage isn’t, well, a deaf Thai guy.

A hitman (Cage) in Bangkok to pull off a series of jobs falls for a local woman and bonds with his errand boy.

Nicolas Cage, Charlie Yeung, and Shahkrit Yamnarm stars. The Pang Brothers direct. There isn’t a release date for the film as yet, but you can read our review of the 1999 original here.

This remake of “Bangkok Dangerous” will be the Pang Brothers’ second Hollywood film, following their debut in “The Messengers”.

Cool Stories From Zergnet

AN EXCELLENT display of shameful production, especially for a place like Thailand that is trying to establish it’s self as a world class city. This movie is boring with unnecessary graphic display of violence and gore such a cut off hand shown for an unnecessary extended period of time. Some scenes are sufficient to put to sleep an abnormally hyperactive child that missed his Ritalin dose.

As someone who has been to Thailand, understands Thai culture, and even has much respect for HM the King, a man who has been a symbol of peace, compassion, and humility, I find this movie disgraceful.

Regardless of the over priced “Paragon” type complexes and expensive shops in Bangkok, Thailand would be in total shambles, and kaoz (YES 1000 TIME MORE THEN WHATS GOING ON NOW as of Sept-2008) and classified lower then 3rd world, if it was not for the influence of HM the King, that for over 60 years has worked to guide the Thai people to peace, compassion and understanding.

This movie is a real shame. If the producers of this motion “crap” had any respect for the wonderful teaching of HM the King, they would have focused energy to reflect Bangkok and Thailand in a positive way. This is a message to any incoherent Thai producers, to realize this, and show some consideration not only to the Kings message, but to the people of Thailand, by propagating messages of peace and good, and not by glorifying violence.

Anyone reading this keep in mind that as an American and living in the USA, I can speak freely and gain no benefit to Honor to ANYONE in a foreign country or especially Royalty, because Americans and other countries not accept superiority of anyone or undemocratic structures.

And I don’t agree with many political issues in Thailand, but I do believe that the wisdom and guidance of HM the King along with the beautiful culture of Buddhism has been the main reason why Thailand has been in peace and also loved by so many (including myself). Only through responsible media will Thailand continue to be such a beloved place. So, please produce responsively, and honorably for the benefit of Thailand, not your pocket books.

Movie was ok not something I preferred however it may be to your taste if you are a gore of battle junkie. (good for running in the background when your doing something else and just want white noise.)

Also for the guy that made the first comment…
Look I can understand the lack of love you have for this movie, but your rant is just uncalled for. There are sites you can go talk about politics and “Thailand that is trying to establish it’s self as a world class city” people want a quick review of what you thought on this site. They don’t need a seminar but thanks for the good information you provided above it was quite accurate.

I don’t agree with the last post, if a child misses his Ritalin dose and is forced to see this movie, he will develop a brain censure or possibly even die, especially after seeing last clip. As a matter of fact, the Kazicaconian government is using this movie to kill it’s prisoners without having to waste bullets or high voltage.
