Usually you can always count on Nicolas Cage losing his shit at least a little bit in all of his movies (say, when the director isn’t watching, or is out eating a bagel or something and it’s just the second unit director there). But in the true-story serial killer flick “The Frozen Ground”, he seems to be way too mellow and in control. I don’t like that. I don’t like Nicolas Cage being normal. That’s just not, well, Nicolas Friggin’ Cage.
In any case, check out the latest trailer for Scott Walker’s “The Frozen Ground”. It’s so … unCage-y that it’s a bit disturbing, to be perfectly honest with you.
“Frozen Ground” follows Alaskan detective Glenn Flothe as he sets out to end the murderous rampage of Robert Hansen, a serial killer who has gone unnoticed for 13 years. As the bodies of street girls start to add up in Anchorage, fear strikes a chord with the public. Risking his life, Detective Flothe goes on a personal manhunt to find the killer before the next body surfaces. When a seventeen year old escapee reveals key information about the case, Flothe is finally able to trail the killer. But will he catch him in time to save the next victim?
Starring Nicolas Cage, John Cusack, Vanessa Hudgens, Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, Radha Mitchell, Dean Norris, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Ryan O’Nan, Katherine LaNasa, Kevin Dunn, and Gia Mantegna.
After a long delay, the film is finally thawing out his August 23, 2013.
