While doing the promo rounds for “G-Force”, Nicolas Cage was asked about “Ghost Rider 2″, which everyone thought would get made much sooner given the surprise box office numbers for the first one, but for various reasons, the sequel seems to still be in the “talking about it” stages. Then again, Cage does do 50 movies a year, so it could be difficult to find time for him to slip back on the leather jacket and kick some CG demon tail. So what about that sequel?
According to Cage (via MTV), he thinks the idea is to “reconceive” the franchise — take it away from its horses and Western roots, and move it into the modern age by taking the character to Europe to do some demon hunting with the Catholic Church.
Cage is a nut, man. I bet he came up with that word “reconceive” just to mess with the interviewer. This is the guy who named his kid Kal-El, after all.
Below: “See, that’s what I’m talking about. I’d love to reconceive that. Know what I mean, kids? Wink.”
