Nicolas Cage to Star in Knowing for Alex Proyas

Alex Proyas knows what’s wrong with Nicolas Cage, and he’s going to fix the quirky actor in the upcoming thriller “Knowing”, reports Variety. Shooting for “Knowing” is supposed to commence on March 17, 2008 down under in Melbourne, Australia. It’s been a while since Proyas has worked, with 2004’s “I, Robot” being his last film.

Cage will play a teacher who examines the contents of a time capsule unearthed at his son’s elementary school. Startling predictions in the time capsule that have already come true lead him to believe the world is going to end at the close of the week and that he and his son are somehow involved in the destruction.

Wait a minute, didn’t Cage already do something like this in “Next”? In any case, so how does this affect Proyas’ negotiations to direct “The Silver Surfer”?
