Nicole Kidman in Remake of Columbian Horror Al Final Del Espectro

Another day in Hollywood, another announcement of a remake of a foreign movie that no one saw, but someone thought was good enough to remake with a “familiar” face. In this case, Nicole Kidman will be fronting the Hollywood remake of a Columbian horror movie called “Al Final Del Espectro”. But wait, purists, don’t get your panties into a bunch. Apparently the studio has hired the film’s original director to also do the remake, a common practice lately, perhaps in a pre-emptive bid to deflect criticism of their inherent lack of creativity that started with the rash of Japanese horror movie remakes.
So what’s “Al Final Del Espectro” (I’m sure the name will change) about?
[Kidman] will play a woman suffering from agoraphobia who moves to a new apartment building after a tragedy and starts seeing ghosts, Daily Variety reported.
This makes the third remake Kidman has been in, counting among them “The Stepford Wives” and the upcoming “The Invasion”, neither of which were particularly well-received; although to be fair, “The Invasion” seems to have good word of mouth, but people are expecting another lackluster box office showing.
