REC 3 Genesis (2012) Movie Image

Although director Paco Plaza’s horror flick “[REC] 3: Genesis” is currently available courtesy of several video-on-demand outlets, yours truly has yet to see the picture. That, to me, is kind of depressing. Whenever I have a moment to spare these days, I tend to forget this one is presently on the market, and I always end up watching something else. In order to light a fire under my cinema-lovin’ ass, the promotional team and “The Walking Dead” artist Tony Moore have unleashed a new comic book-inspired one-sheet for the genre outing, which you can find embedded in the space provided below. If you like weddings, zombies, and chainsaws, you’re probably going to love this.

Before continuing, peruse this plot synopsis:

Koldo and Clara are about to celebrate the most important day of their lives: their wedding. Everything appears to be running smoothly and the bride and groom and their families are enjoying a wonderful day; that is, until some of the guests start showing signs of a strange illness. Before they know what’s happening, the bride and groom find themselves in the middle of a hellish ordeal, as an uncontrollable torrent of violence is unleashed on the wedding. Amidst the chaos, Koldo and Clara become separated and begin a desperate search for one another. What started off as an idyllic day quickly descends into a nightmare of the worst kind.

Plaza’s “[REC] 3: Genesis” is currently slated to arrive in North American theaters on September 7, 2012. If you’re curious to read Nix’s thoughts on the prequel, take a journey into his edition of Encapsulated Cinema. As always, it’s a damn good read. The latest one-sheet, meanwhile, is awaiting your undivided attention.

Author: Todd Rigney

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at)
