No Dicking Around for Kevin Smith’s Couple of Cops

The title of Kevin Smith’s latest comedy, “A Couple of Dicks” has been changed to “Cop Out”, which is both clever and stupid. Stupid that he was forced to change it by the studio because, apparently, “Dicks” frighten people; and clever because, well, by giving in to the studio and changing it, he’s sort of “copping out”, if you will. Then again, I’m sure Smith is a practical bloke, and realizes people who go to see Kevin Smith movies could care less what the title of the movie is as long as they know it’s a Kevin Smith movie.

The film is about two cops who get involved in locating a stolen baseball card, rescuing a woman, and dealing with gangsters and their laundered money. It stars Bruce willis, Michelle Trachtenberg, Jason Lee, Seann William Scott, Adam Brody, Tracy Morgan, Kevin Pollak, Fred Armisen, Guillermo Díaz, and Ana de la Reguera.

Kevin Smith directs the now dick-less film, due out February 26, 2010.
