No Girl with Long Hair in Ryuhei Kitamura’s Yoroi

Japanese directors Ryuhei Kitamura (“Godzilla Final Wars”) and Shinya Kawai (“The Ring”) are sick and tired of long-haired Japanese ghost girls and haunted inanimate objects, and they (specifically Kitamura) swears that their latest horror outing, “Yoroi”, will have none of those things. Instead the movie will be about “a hostage family, robberies and samurai zombies,” but not necessarily in that order. Wait, did he say “samurai zombies”? Yeah, that’s a Kitamura, for you. Kitamura also claims that “Yoroi” will take horror to the “the next level”, but to be honest with you, didn’t we already saw samurai zombies in “Versus”?

Although Kitamura’s name is most prominently attached to “Yoroi”, he won’t actually be directing. Instead, his long-time contributor Isao Kiriyama will write and direct the project.

Did someone say zombie smaurais?
