No Heroics Guy to Bring Some Heroics to Iron Man 3 Script

When Shane Black told us that he was not only directing “Iron Man 3″, but that he was also going to write it as well, he forgot to mention that he wasn’t going to be the only one. Or maybe Marvel is forcing this on him? One certainly hopes not.

Deadline reports that Marvel has hired British writer Drew Pearce, who created the TV show “No Heroics” and recently penned Marvel’s gestating “Runaways” movie, to write the “Iron Man 3″ script from scratch. Word is, Pearce will “work closely” with Black on the script. Pearce got the gig after Marvel was happy with his “Runaways” script, which apparently has been put on the back burner by Marvel.

“Iron Man 3″ is obviously the studio’s priority movie, since it’s a proven moneymaker, and has already been penned in for a May 3, 2013 release date.

Nice. I’m sure Marvel is just trying to figure out how to market Runaways as a movie. it isn’t your normal superhero stuff, but it’s very good stuff.
