Toss a stone in any direction and, chances are, you’ll connect with someone working on their own personal homage to 70’s cult cinema. Some of these ambitious endeavors look great, some look genuinely awful, and some look cooler than your creepy uncle’s five-foot afro. “Splatter Disco” director Richard Griffin’s upcoming nunsploitation action extravaganza “Nun of That” definitely falls into the latter category. To be perfectly honest, it’s hard to dislike a movie that features a trio of nuns kicking a little ass, especially when they’re sporting fully automatic weaponry. Even if it sucks the life from your heathen soul, at least you still get a trio of sisters armed with shotguns. Booyah.
Here’s the lowdown on the plot:
After being gunned down in an alley, Sister Kelly Wrath ascends to heaven to receive training from some of the great figures of religious mythology. She is then set back to Earth to join the other members of the Order of the Black Habit, a group of supernatural vigilante nuns, as they fight evil and seek revenge against the mob.
Groovy! “Nun of That” makes its DVD debut on January 12th courtesy of Camp Motion Pictures.
