Michael Bay’s “Friday the 13th” remake is moving forward, and if the guys over at Horror-Movies.ca are right, then “Cloverfield’s” most eligible babe, Odette Yustman, will be playing the female lead. Bay has already tapped Marcus Nispel, who helmed Bay’s “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” remake, to guide our return to Crystal Lake.
Buried within the news of the Nightmare On Elm Street Remake was a nugget of casting information on the Friday the 13th Remake. Odette Yustman (Cloverfield) has signed on to star in the New Line remake. The film will be directed by Marcus Nispel with a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.
Of course the remake will take place at Camp Crystal Lake. In the film it has been shuttered for over 20 years due to several vicious and unsolved murders. The camp’s new owner and seven young counselors are readying the property for re-opening despite warnings of a “death curse” by local residents. The curse proves true on Friday the 13th as one by one each of the counselors is stalked by a violent killer.
I read the Variety article they mentioned, but it didn’t say anything about Odette joining the “Friday the 13th” remake, so take this for what you will.
