Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder have made it official: Lois Lane will indeed make an appearance in their “Superman” reboot despite rumors to the contrary; and what’s more, “The Fighter’s” Amy Adams will be bringing her redheaded sass to Metropolis’ most daring investigative reporter. Adams will be playing the same character previously played by Kate Bosworth in Bryan Singer’s “Superman Returns”, but more famously, by Margot Kidder in the Richard Donner movies.
Snyder said in a statement:
Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about. So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful.
Curiously, Adams is 36, and the new Superman, Henry Cavill is nearly 10 years younger. Of course, these are Hollywood actors we’re talking about, so I suppose one could “go younger” and the other could “go older” to match up. Or maybe they’ll take the “he’s younger than her cause he’s Superman and he doesn’t age” factor into consideration. Or they could just ignore the whole thing, which is likely.
In any case, here’s your new Lois Lane:
