Official: NBC Cancels Damian Lewis’ Life

Well it’s pretty much official, even though NBC has yet to send out a press release saying it’s official, but Michael Ausiello over at EW recently came back from NBC’s infront presentation and is confirming that Damian Lewis, Sarah Shahi, and the gang over at the Life TV show will not be back for a third season. Such is the sad state of TV nowadays that you can have fifty exact Law and Order and CSI clones on the air at once, but for some reason there is no room for a cop show as cool, quirky, and fun as Life. Stupid networks. Stupid TV watchers. Ugh.
I don’t have much to say, except that I’ll miss Life. I’ll miss the very hot Dani Reese and her myriad of family issues, and I’ll miss Charlie Crews and his pseudo Zen nonsense. It was a great show, but we can at least be thankful that the producers sorta knew the show might not return for a third season, so they did do us a favor by wrapping up most, if not all of the show’s hanging plot threads in the Season 2 finale.
So, Life is gone. It was fun while it lasted. Here’s a look back at a great crime show that never got much of a chance. Too bad they didn’t call it CSI: Life. The stupid TV audience might have tuned in, then.

I agree…there’s only one GOOD CSI show and that’s the original…the others suck (especially CSI:Miami). This show was sooooo good. Quirky, intelligently written, characters you cared about, etc. It really pisses me how unbelievably stupid shows like Parks and Recreation can stay on the air, but great shows like Life and Pushing Daises get cancelled. STUPID, STUPID TV audience! Your stupid!

A big MEH! to NBC. I loved Life. I was totally attached to this show. I can’t believe NBC did it such a disservice (how often did YOU see commercials for Life? I watch a lot of NBC, and I rarely saw a promo). Amazing that a show that garners around 6 million on the last place network doesn’t get another shot. I’m not sure I can stomach all those hours of Leno, Mandel and Trump. So very, very sad for really, really good television.

Danish girl here, watched one episode, and had to get both seasons. I’ve just searched the internet, desperately looking for a season 3, and saw your article.. Totally dissapointed! How could they!!!??
F*** all of the different versions of CSI, and other wannabe-shows, and send an actually interesting, entertaining and addicting serie instead of.

I watch 60 minutes of TV a week and that’s the one they cancel.
Probably didn’t survive because you actually had to think to enjoy it. Wasn’t a dancing/Idol/doctor clone.

What chance LIFE can come back in 2010 having missed a year? It is a great show – so original, clever. I’ll really miss it.
This is more evidence that the networks are toast. People are going to cable or to any number of media for their entertainment. This is one of those programs distinctive enough to hold its own. That NBC would cancel it–and with it a viewing public that only watches one or two shows (like me)–suggests to me that it has thrown in the towel. I’ll miss this show too. And will cancel NBC. (Not hard since its programming seriously sucks.)

Yeah, this sucks. i actually like csi miami and csi ny but i can’t understand why this happens. all the good shows are cancelled. i loved this show. it made me laugh whenever i was down because you can’t escape charlie’s humour. i’ve been through this recently because fox cancelled terminator:the sarah connor cronicles. i also love that show because i love the all terminator saga. but it seems to be that all the good shows are cancelled. and yes, if the show was csi life i’m sure that they wouldn’t cancelled it. what a stupid way. i think that they could take a lesson of life. i mean, it was a show so emotional, so fun and yet so thrilling that you couldn’t miss an episode. men, this sucks. hope that they are happy.
Cmon TV land!!!!! how bout we stop canceling good shows to make room for more reality TV!!!! Im sick of this. everytime they have a good show on TV the can it to make room for another bachelor show. or another celebrity show were they dont do shit but cry and argue. DAMNIT!!!!!
