Official Trailer for Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla Finally Tramples Online

Years in the making and lots of cease and desist letters later, the first official trailer for “Monsters” director Gareth Edwards’ “Godzilla” has finally stomped online for your viewing pleasure. Fortunately for us, it’s not the same trailer that was leaked a while back, so we’re getting something new here. For those wondering what the plot is, there’s a handy little synopsis below. It certainly sound as if, although the big G will be a menace, he won’t be the only one. And he might just be the only thing that stands between us and getting stomped into the ground. Awkward.

So what do you think, was all that wait worth it? Judge for yourself, judge for yourselfers.

An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

Starring Bryan Cranston, Aaron Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Victor Rasuk, and Juliette Binoche.

The stomping commences next year, May 16, 2014.

Aw, man, was hoping to see some more monster footage other than the money shot from the leaked teaser, and that jumper-vision shot doesn’t count–it might as well be GINO under there

Not sure what to think. After living through the abomination that was the original American try at it I certainly like the look (though I wasn’t against the first but it just wasn’t the icon we know and morbidly love) but not sure what we’re gonna get here. I think Godzilla alone has been done to death so I’m all for the big guy to fight it out against others. Hopefully get some of the cultural relevance of the original Godzilla (first being the response to our sins of nuclear weaponry and then into our defense, at least from the Japanese perspective). In the end…cautiously optimistic.

This looks fantastic! So far it looks like Gareth Edwards has done very well.
I’m so happy we’re finally getting a big budget Godzilla film that stays TRUE to the original Toho films.

Now that is how you make a movie trailer…literal goosebumps. Can’t Wait.
