Courtesy of Disney’s French YouTube channel, check out a new trailer for Gore Verbinski’s “The Lone Ranger”. It’s got oodles of new footage, more Tomfoolery, ‘splosions, and basically everything that’s going to make this movie a big hit come July. Does that mean it’ll be any good? Not necessarily. It’ll probably end up like star Johnny Depp’s last “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie — utterly forgettable, but still somehow managing to surpass $1 billion almost purely based on its stars charisma. Or I could be wrong and “The Lone Ranger” might redefine the Western. (Probably not, though.)
Check out what the French got to see. It’s Tonto-rific.
From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “The Lone Ranger,” a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid, a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.
“The Lone Ranger” also stars Armie Hammer, Helena Bonham Carter, William Fichtner, Tom Wilkinson, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, James Frain, and Ruth Wilson.
Riding for justice this July 3, 2013.
