Orlando Bloom Wouldn’t Mind Returning to the Pirates of the Caribbean Franchise

Orlando Bloom in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006) Movie ImageOrlando Bloom must have heard about the Brink trucks that Disney have been renting just to drive over all the cash to Johnny Depp’s house in order to keep him on their “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, because after skipping out on part 4 along with fellow onscreen girlfriend Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom is now looking to return to the Seven Seas and plunder more booty.

During the UK premiere of his upcoming swashbuckling film “The Three Musketeers”, The Daily Star quotes Bloom as saying about the possibility of returning to the “Pirates” franchise:

I was quite sad not to be in the fourth and I really miss working on them.

If they said they wanted me back, of course I’d do it. It’s great to see the franchise still doing well.

Bloom played Will Turner alongside Knightley’s Elizabeth Swann in the first three “Pirates” film, but only Depp returned for the fourth movie, “On Stranger Tides”. It’s open to debate if the filmmakers just realized that Turner and Swann’s arc had just run its course, or if the two actors decided not to come back, thus paving the way for part 4’s solo Captain Sparrow adventure.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”, meanwhile, has cleared over a $1 billion at the worldwide box office.
