Despite the fact that the film has an October 31st, 2011 release date, work on the next installment of the popular horror franchise “Paranormal Activity” hasn’t even begun yet. Here’s hoping that the team behind the freaky social networking documentary “Catfish” — namely, filmmakers Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman — can get things rolling post-haste, as they’ve been hired to handle directing duties for “Paranormal Activity 3″. They seem like a good fit, but then again, the series is pretty by-the-numbers, so don’t expect anything too different from the previous flicks. “Paranormal Activity 2″ screenwriter Christopher B. Landon will return to handle scripting duties, while Oren Peli and Jason Blum will produce.
By the way — have you seen “Catfish” yet? It’s seriously freaky, and will make you second guess who, exactly, that extremely hot girl/guy you’ve been talking to on Facebook really is. I’ve included the trailer below just in case you’re curious. The clip is a little misleading, but it’ll give you a good idea of what these guys are capable of achieving.
