Paul Anderson Writing Resident Evil 4 Soon

Apparently “Resident Evil 4″ has gone from a “maybe” to a “probably”, at least if Paul W.S. Anderson has anything to say about it. Not all that long ago, Anderson went public with the news that he was currently talking to the studio about doing a fourth “Resident Evil” movie, but that nothing had come from it. Yet. That appears to have changed. Anderson, currently in the UK promoting his futuristic remake “Death Race”, is saying that he will begin writing “Resident Evil 4″ very soon.

Paul W.S. Anderson was recently in the UK promoting his new film their Death Race. While he was talking to the Sunday Sun he mentioned, “I’m writing an adaptation of the Long Good Friday right now, set in present-day Miami. Then I will probably write Resident Evil 4.”
Of course, this is either good news or bad news, depending on how you approach movies with the name “Paul W.S. Anderson” stamped anywhere around it. I happen to think the man has a lot of talent, but that he always finds ways to, well, stop just short of being really, really good. All of his movies have the same potential, but for one reason or another, they just never seem to get over the hump.
In any case, “Resident Evil 4″ is probably on the way. There’s just no good reason not to do it, especially considering the box office take of the previous three films. I wasn’t exactly thrilled with the last movie, in particular the seemingly “passing of the torch” subplot from Alice to Claire that, in true Anderson fashion, didn’t seem to go anywhere.

The RE movies just kept going downhill from one to the next. The first one was excelent. The second was decent but could of been A LOT better. The third one just was rediculous. I mean, the scene of them with the zombie in their lab trying to domesticate it was poor and the whole mad max feeling, especially in the beggining when Alice get’s captured by that family just completely changed and ruined the whole feel to what RE is about. Plus the zombies by the end had just become wild irratic monsters and completely lost the zombie aspect. They’ve gone so far with the series, especially concidering how the world is a dessert, that I don’t see how a 4th film will be able to redeem itself, to me at least.
Also, they need to bring back Marilyn Manson as a co-composer. The opening theme song to RE1 just encomposes the entire feel of RE.
this isn’t just a Zombie film, have you ever played A Resident Evil game?
well it’s more about The Umbrella Corp. and them trying to wipe out the human race.
If your looking for a more Zombie eats people try George A. Romero’s Dead Series…
The R.E Story is more about the game and the whole concept of bringing it to life for the fans.
How can anyone say any of paul anderson ’s films were excelent ? you mean excelent like when Bill and Ted find some twinkies and chocolate milk at the circle k kind of excelent or like heath ledgers performance in the dark knight excelent ? Because paul anderson is a british person who has come over to america to rape pilage and ruin american greatness .. he ruined mortal kombat.. he ruined AVP.. he ruined Resident evil. ( i watch the films for milla) and now he is ruining milla…

Actually, no, he shouldn’t be doing shit. Fuck that dude. The script for Castlevania he wrote was probably one of the worse things I’ve read since the Bush administration economic plans. I’m not gonna front though, I liked Mortal Kombat the movie… but I was also 12.
Re-boot the series, Start off, with RE1 with Chris as the protagonist, RE2 with Leon, then go straight to RE4 with Leon again.
The problem with re-booting the series as you suggested is that then it will just be exactly like the video games. There won’t be much difference. And that would be cool, but there just wouldn’t be much point in it.

Making the Video Game/Comic Book movie.
This is a subject that I find myself pulled in two different directions. At one time, I used to REALLY believe that if someone was going to make a movie based on a Video game or comic, they need to be 110% accurate in the story and characters. When I first saw TIM BURTON’S BATMAN, I hated it. He didn’t look like anything like the comic book character. But then, Burton brought out a darker, more gothic version of the Batman that I came to like. It’s just about the same with the X-MEN movies. They’re good, but the fact that they put in the ‘popular’ characters instead of the actual first team peeved me a little. Don’t get me wrong, I like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine (can’t wait for the solo movie), but I honestly think that PETER JACKSON would have brought out the movie much better (considering what he did on KING KONG). I think he would’ve brought in the original characters- Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast (hairless), Angel and Iceman in the classic black & white costumes, and HE would’ve made it work.
But that’s what I think.
But then, you have the issue of an original story. If you KNOW what is going to happen, then it’s not going to be an exciting movie to watch, despite the fact you want to see the video game/comic book as a movie. RESIDENT EVIL is such a multi-character story, that it doesn’t focus on one person but many, at different parts of the storyline. So the 1st and second movies fell right in with the video game, but was different enough to leave you guessing what was next. The third just left me thinking, WHAT TH’ HELL? Still, I think that the actual character needs to be 99.8 percent actuate, but larger stories with multiple characters doesn’t.
I Think they should make a number 4.I loved number 3. Well I loved all of them. But in the 4th one they should really tell how she gets her powers more and that all of them let out a Big Power at the end where it kills all of the Zombies!! I can’t wait till till it comes out
I was into the Games as a kid then a teen, but now that i have a family i make sure to see the movie’s. MY biggest thing Was at the END of the 3rd movie was ( WHAT TH’ H**L ) the same as Markus K posted above. It would of been better if they had the 4th move ready to Rock soon after the 3rd. It just left us hanging !
I actually kind of liked 1,2,and 3, It keeps to somewhat the game, But it keeps me watching. If it was Just like the game I would not care to see it !!!! Ive played and watched the games be played enulf in one life time.

I see the trailer called Degeneration all over the web. They just need to finish what they started in part3 first!! then keep going with the cartoons. If i want to watch a cartoon i would, But if i want to watch a Movie, I WANT A real MOVE!
Most of Us that started Playing the First Game was back in the 9 or 10th Grade, and if i rember correct it was on the old Playstation. Now that group of teens are in there late 20s to early 30s, Granted we are still young But That would be a Very Big disappointment if part 4 was a cartoon !!!

Okay…this is going to stop right NOW PAUL ANDERSON!!! i dont know what your thinking but this is going to stop! I will not see a next Resident evil movie made by you, you have destroyed the entire series of resident evil, you mix up all the characters from the games and make Nemesis a good guy!! WTF!!? you cant freaking do that and why do carlos die i third movie?? Why did he die?? he was awesome :’( and he look like chris redfield and why are jill and carlos not in the same movie?? And jill? oh man she not even look like the jill from the games. Man you fuck the hole up on that, from now on let Capcom make the Resident evil movies, just look at Resident evil Degeneration. But dont make are 4 movie, its going to suck even if you put leon in it and other stuff, it will suck for you have made 3 other movies thats suck balls. So stop make the resident evil movie and let Capcom do that or Peter Jackson, i think he will make are better movie of resident evil, and it will be a lot better when all your resident evil films together.
