Paul Bettany is a Fallen Angel in Legion

Written by Nix | February 13th, 2008 | 4 Comments |

British actor Paul Bettany is probably the hardest working man in show business that no one has ever heard of. Well maybe that’ll change with his starring role in the upcoming “Legion”, which has God getting pissy and sending a troop of angels down to Earth to wipe out humankind. Luckily for us, the hardest working man in show business is there to stop them.

More:

Story follows what happens when God loses faith in humanity and sends his legion of angels to wipe out the human race for the second time. Mankind’s only hope lies in a group of misfits holed up in a diner in the desert who are aided by the archangel Michael (Bettany).

“Legion” will be directed by first-timer Scott Stewart, a former special effects man (he co-founded the special effects company the Orphanage), so you can probably expect a lot of really good special effects as angels clash and “misfits” run for cover.

Shooting commences in March in New Mexico.

Not many things sound stupid and sacreligious at the same time, but this does take the blasphemous cake…well, next to “The Da Vinci Code.”

Legion’s opening scene will begin shooting tomorrow night in an old warehouse in downtown Albuquerque. My job for the past 10 years has been/is in this warehouse. The movie folks, set designers, electricians, etc. showed up and it’s hard for us ‘civilians’ to get anything done. This is just too exciting! We may well only be seeing stunt men rappelling thru skylights and doors being blown apart. These behind-the-scenes people are an amazingly talented bunch, friendly and polite. The actors are nobody without these people.
